About KVS, ZIET

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Education, Government of India is running nearly 1229 Kendriya Vidyalayas all over the country to provide qualitative education from Class I to Class XII for the wards of the Central Government Employees and other population. For the administrative convenience, it has been divided into 25 regions.

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan was established in 1963 to cater to the educational needs of the wards of transferable Central Government Employees including Defence and Para Military personnel providing a common programme of Education. With the objective of building the capacities of the teachers and to engage them in continuous professional development so that the teachers are able to contribute towards providing quality education to the students admitted in KVs, KVS has taken measures to strengthen the Institutional mechanism of training its teachers and other employees regularly.

Accordingly KVS has established five Zonal Institutes of Education &Training (ZIET) in the country. ZIET Bhubaneswar is one of them. It caters to the training needs of the teachers and other staff of six feeder Regions namely- Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Guwahati, Ranchi, Silchar and Tinsukia.

ZIET Bhubaneswar started functioning since 23 September 2011. Each ZIET is headed by a Deputy Commissioner designated as Director, supported by the Training staff called Training Associates and the office staff.
